The most fabled character in Chinese legend, the Monkey King, or Sun Wukong (孫悟空) is powerful, fast, and a master of the 72 transformations—basically a bad ass. Riding on his cloud and armed with his staff, he, along with a few other companions, serve as a bodyguard for a monk in their journey to the west, fighting off baddies. The monkey king wears a band on his head so his rebellious nature can be controlled but in the end, dutifully completed his mission and was granted Buddhahood.
