I Have Been A Hotel Woman

http://nicolemariereber.com/#1269842/Thesis

"I Have Been a Hotel Women" is the first complete manuscript of poetry by Nicole Reber. The work begins with a practice of lucid dreaming that is quickly informed by an obsession with architecture. Architecture informs modern sexuality, and the poems begin to question whether this is for better or for worse. Incorporating short lines and cutting humor throughout, the author begins to wonder whether she wants the dreams to stop or not. Joseph Cornell, George Oppen, web culture, Evangeline Booth, modernist architecture, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, and the dreams themselves all serve as inspirations and references throughout the work. It is a physical document of the maturation of a modern woman.
