Out of Vermont Kitchens (1961)
Collection of recipes from church-goers at St Paul's Church in Burlington, Vermont. Originally published in 1960. This is a revised edition from 1961. Contains 360 pages of recipes for appetizers, vegetables, main dishes, and lots of desserts. All the recipes are handwritten by different parishioners. Very charming! Although, some folk's handwriting leaves a little to be desired. One recipe looked like "Trout Muffins", but it turned out to be "Sweet" Muffins. Some other funny ones: "Stressed-Filled Coffee Cake" turned out to be "Streussel" and "Have Sniffle" turned out to be "Ham Souffle". Better read everything twice before diving into a recipe!
