Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have prior to placing your order.
How much is shipping?
U.S. addresses: Free shipping via USPS Priority Mail
Canadian addresses: US $19.95-$40.95 via USPS Priority Mail
All others: US $125-$350 via FedEx or United Parcel Service (UPS)
Do you accept orders placed outside of the US?
I prefer to ship my painted rocks within the United States and Canada using U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail:
US addresses: Free shipping
Canada small flat rate box shipping & handling: $19.95 for each item.
Canada medium flat rate box shipping & handling: $40.95 for each item.
For International Customers: Painted rocks can be quite heavy or an odd shape, therefore, shipments outside the US will incur a very high shipping and handling cost ranging from $125-$350. The shipping cost is high because the package would be sent via FedEx or United Parcel Service (UPS). These carriers offer faster delivery, insurance and a tracking method which the United States Postal service does not. Please note: each country restricts items which may enter the country and I cannot guarantee a painted rock is permitted into your country. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to making a purchase.
Why do you charge the full shipping price for a 2nd item?
Due to the varying weights and sizes of the painted rocks, I am unable to specify a lower shipping fee for the 2nd and additional items. However, if I can fit your items in 1 box, I refund a portion (if not the whole amount) of any additional shipping charges. If you desire more than 1 item, contact me and I'll let you know if the additional items can be shipped in one flat rate box, saving you on the second shipping charge.
How are the rocks packed and shipped?
I wrap the rock(s) in parchment paper and pack newspaper and/or bubble wrap around the rock(s) and ship them using US Postal Domestic/International Priority Mail Service, FedEx or United Parcel Service (UPS). If you desire more than 1 item, contact me so I can determine if both items will fit in one box, saving you the second shipping charge.
Can I track my order?
A shipment tracking number will be provided by email once your order is placed and shipped. This is sent to the email address you entered during the checkout process. Please verify you have entered the correct email so you don't miss this shipment notification.
How long will it take to receive my order?
I will usually ship your order within 2 business days of receiving it. Once shipped, most orders take anywhere from 2 to 10 business days to arrive depending on weather and the efficiency of the carrier.
I ordered a downloadable "How To" PDF. When will I receive it?
Once I receive an email confirming your order and payment, I will send a link to the PDF document to the email address provided on your order. I check my email several times each day and you should receive the download instructions within 24 hours of placing your order. Please ensure your correct email is entered on the order form.
Do you accept custom orders?
I will consider doing a custom order for you. Use the "Contact" button to get in touch with me describing what you'd like. If you like one of my painted rocks which has been sold, contact me and I'll paint one for you.
What can I do with my painted rock?
These hand painted rocks make unique and charming gifts. Some suggested uses are: bookends, paperweights, doorstops, home decor, garden decor, yard art, pocket pets, gift box adornments.
I regularly send a small painted rock to a nursing home resident to brighten her day. I'm told her face lights up when she recognizes one of my packages in her mailbox.
Can I display my painted rocks outdoors?
All of my painted rocks have been sealed with one coat of sealer.
Rocks labeled as yard art and garden decor have at least two coats of sealer and may be displayed outdoors.
I recommend occasionally reapplying a clear coat sealer when your rocks are displayed outdoors to protect the colors and prolong the life of your piece. I seal my rocks with a product called Mod Podge. There are also clear, spray-on acrylic sealers (such as the Krylon brand) in gloss and matte finishes available at craft stores.
Is there anything important I need to know about displaying painted rocks?
Yes, it's important to remember these safety issues.
Small rocks may be a choking hazard to young children. Be sure to keep small rocks away from young children (under 3 years of age) who may try to put the rocks into their mouths.
Large rocks can be quite heavy and should not be displayed on a high shelf where there is a chance they could topple onto someone or something. Rocks can prove hazardous or destructive if dropped or thrown, too.
How long have you been painting rocks?
Art class was always my favorite while growing up. Work and raising a family put my artistic activities on hold until I discovered rock painting in 2007.
Is there anything special you can tell me about the rocks?
I’ve always loved nature, walking, and discovering the unexpected in a piece of art. Rock art painting has enabled me to combine these interests (and more) to create one-of-a-kind, endearing objects for people of all ages and walks of life. I personally select, sanitize, and hand paint all of my rocks. Varying rock shapes and paint colors make each rock a unique, one-of-a-kind object. Each piece is signed by me. As a believer in simple, natural, economical living, I’m recycling an ordinary item into something extraordinary.
