Wooden judges is based off the many verses found in the Gospels that speak about how the Pharisees were so wrapped up in their own laws, their own traditions and their own man made ideals that they misplaced their love and worship. The crown appears to be glitz and gold but looking closer you can see it is nothing more than a facade and made of wood. The crown illustrates the position of authority the Pharisees held but the wood illustrates that their authority was dishonorable.
