This Fiber Art piece features a single Echinacea Flower, a symbol that to me represents the power of natural healing. My inspiration for this piece is the time period of mid century modern. The cone-shape head is a vintage broach from the 1960's. The stem is part of a necklace chain that was found at an estate sale. The petals are from a vintage wool blanket that I felted. The leaves are from a piece of modern wool felt.

This is a mixed media piece featuring vintage jewelry, 100% wool felt, glass beads from Africa, 100% wool vintage blanket felt and cotton embroidery thread. This piece is hand signed in embroidery on vintage bark cloth.

I choose to work with burlap because it is rough and somewhat challenging to sew with. The end result is an organic piece that has a mixture of texture, strength and warmth.

The frame has been recycled and is finished with new backing paper. The frame measures 15" x 11".
