How long will it take to receive my order?
For a custom tie production time is approximately one week + shipping time (usually 2 weeks total), however we are a one person operation here and sometimes orders take longer to process. If you have a specific date you need you tie by please make a note in your order. Also, please note that if you request a fabric that I do not have on hand, production time may be up to 4 weeks, as I have to order that fabric and then am at the mercy of the post office and the person or company shipping it to me.
Production times vary in ties that are results of freebies/giveaways. While all customers are a priority, paid orders and rush orders do take precedence.
Once shipped most domestic orders take anywhere from 2 to 10 business days to arrive depending on the efficiency of your local postal service. International shipping delivery times may vary between 2 and 12 weeks.

How did your business begin?
Some have heard my story but for those of you who haven't, here it is.
In January 2011 my family lost my beautiful cousin Crystal to cancer at the age of 29. My cousin and I were very close and being close in age as well as the only female grandchildren, we grew up more like sisters than cousins. Her house is where I spent much of my childhood drawing, painting, and creating. I remember when she was in her teens and started sketching beautiful dress designs that would literally take your breath away.
Design wasn't her passion though, children were. She became a Kindergarten teacher and used her creativity to inspire her students, but she also inspired me, more than I can ever put into words. Her sketches will always be in the back of my mind, and the strength she had gave me what I needed to set out on a dream of my own.
I knew I wanted to create, but I hadn't quite settled on what I wanted to create. That's where a good friend of mine and a great fraternity come into the picture. My best friend Will needed a date to a fraternity date function and, of course, we wanted to match. He didn't have a bow tie that matched the dress I was wearing so I set out to make him one. That one turned into 4 (one for each date party) and then his brothers started asking where he'd gotten his bow ties. Those 4 turned into a fraternity's worth, that fraternity's worth spread over campus and Keeneland and then that same wonderful fraternity (credit where credit is due, Delta Sigma Phi) suggested a web store. That's where we are today, and by "we" I mean myself and my dog.
I'm a college Senior, taking classes and finals, babysitting, and making, selling, and shipping our products. My pup is our resident model and that's all our team consists of (for now)! So I have to say thank you to all our customers and just know we appreciate you and your support more than anything! We look forward to what we will be able to create and build in the future! And yes, in case you were wondering, our "Sissy's Place" label for our children's products is in honor of my "sissy" Crystal, who is in our hearts and on our minds always.
