Yolanda’s Creations is known for its fun, delicate, sassy and practical style. It’s for the young and old and young at heart. It’s the type of style that can go from day to night in an instance. Yolanda’s Creations is young at heart! My name is Yolanda, and I am the creator and designer for Yolanda’s Creations. Yolanda’s Creations started originally about 8 plus years ago as only jewelry. My younger sister at that time had a bead shop in Chicago and showed me how to make something as pretty and simple as earrings. She kept saying to me I should learn how to make my own jewelry since she always saw me wearing jewelry regardless of what type of outfit I had on (business or casual). I then moved to New Jersey and I remember her sending me a care package …my first earring making kit! I then started to buy my own beads out in NJ and was just creating things from bracelets to necklaces to rings. I was in jewelry making heaven!

I will never forget someone one day asking me I should try to sell what I was making because it was different. My creations were sassy and yet elegant enough to go from day to night. I of course consulted with my husband and asked him what should I call my creations…he said Yolanda’s Creations. My husband has been my designer for my logo. He gave me the start of what my color palettes can and should be and I have run with that concept.

I had ladies requesting many creations in a variety of styles. This ended up taking a life of its own. I found myself making everything, but nothing seemed to say Yolanda’s Creations. Until I discovered that making wire chokers and dainty or boho chic earrings were more of my BRAND. I took a break from making jewelry to rethink my brand. Then all things changed when my mother came to visit me and encouraged me to pick up crocheting and add my beads to my crocheting. I started off slow with this process because even though I don’t know how to read a crochet pattern I started to create my own patterns. I started to challenge myself and research crochet hooks, needles, threads, gauges on hooks etc. My first creation was the obvious a scarf! YEP! A scarf…easy peasy. Then I challenged myself to upgrade it to making gloves, hats, ponchos, purses. There are so many things that I didn’t realize really spoke to me in creativity. I started to create exactly what Yolanda’s Creation is: CASUAL, SASSY, BOHO, CHIC styles.

I have tapped into beads, fiber and even fabric. I have found that creating is great but when you actually wear what you make and people say, ‘hey that is very pretty’ only for them to hear that I made it it’s the best compliment!

Launching my online store here at Storenvy has given me the opportunity to have a platform to present and showcase a variety of items that in essence can be a day to day item or something that you never thought of and here I have made it. My creations can be worn pretty much all year round or you can use all year round – obviously depending on what you get and see.

My goal is to have customers see my vision of being young at heart and yet still have that style of casual, sassy and boho chic and know that when you get something from my store it’s made with a lot of love and attention.
