Japan Disaster Relief Donations. Help Make a Difference.

sistine posted March 13, 2011 11:44 ago

Hello Storenvy readers and fellow store owners,

As you know, Japan was hit by one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded in history this past Friday. What followed was a deadly tsunami that slammed into the nation’s east coast as a result of the magnitude-8.9 quake. To make matters worse, reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi plant was on the brink of a nuclear meltdown.

Japan has often donated when other countries have experienced disasters. Here at Sistine, we would like to play our part and help with the disaster relief efforts in Japan. Effective immediately, all of our online shop tees are on sale for $30, down from $36. For every tee we sell, we will donate $10 to the Red Cross towards their disaster relief efforts in Japan.

You can visit us at our official online shop at http://www.sistine.co or our Storenvy store at sistine.storenvy.com/.

It may not seem like much but we believe every little bit will help. We will continue to do this for as long as we can. At the end of every month I will make a donation from the proceeds of our sales and post the receipt on our blog, that way those of you kind souls who aided in our effort can be sure of our commitment to help make a difference.

You can also donate to any of these organizations provided by the link here, http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_newsroom/20110311/wl_yblog_newsroom/japan-earthquake-and-tsunami-how-to-help.

Should any other designers or Storenvy owners be interested in offering similar donation efforts to help with the disaster relief in Japan, please feel free to post here below. Thank you for reading!

And mine as well, I'm accepting donations in increments of a dollar and matching them. And I'm doing a giveaway on my blog, the mandatory entry is to make a donation. :)

I have been told only $.30 on the dollar actually goes to the disaster through Red Cross. Does anyone know more about that.

Never mind. I called them, it's 100% for disaster relief. Generic donations are what they use for advertising.

I came up with a Plan B because Plan A didn't go so well. Now I have special shirt up for pre-order and will donate 100% of the profits to charity.
