Just had a question. It may have been addressed already, but I can't find anything. For domestic orders, I like to use PayPal's MultiOrder shipping to easily pay for and print a bunch of mailing labels. Storenvy seems to not send the buyer's shipping address to PayPal, instead leaving it blank. Is there a way around this? Is there any way to change this? Thanks for the help all!
UPDATE!!!
For anyone reading this for the first time: The address is now exported to PayPal, and other improvements to the checkout process have been made since this original question was asked.
Hi! Sorry I missed your post until now. You are correct that the PayPal system we currently use (PayPal X) doesn't integrate with PayPal's multi-order shipping. HOWEVER, PayPal just introduced a solution for this (PayPal Express), which we'll be introducing within the next few months!
The PayPal systems we use are all for the sake of our one-cart checkout, which lets shoppers checkout from multiple stores in one transaction.
Thanks for asking -- coming soon!
does anyone know if this feature has been released yet? im wanting to be able to print labels for orders as well.
Is there an update on this? This is a major issue since it disables paypal protection for transactions so sellers aren't protected in cases of fraud.
All orders through Storenvy are covered by the same seller protection as any PayPal order. Not sure what you mean by it disables PayPal protection for transactions. Please feel free to elaborate.
We definitely understand that this is a sought after feature, but with the PayPal tool set that we have right now it is not available. It seems like a very issue to fix but unfortunately is not. We are hoping that we can find a solution, but as of right now these are the cards we are dealt.
Hi Adam - Thanks for the reply but I think that you're incorrect. The buyer protection is still in effect but without an address sent to paypal they do not cover sellers. With an address PayPal will usually cover sellers for both items lost in transit and fraud but without the address they cover neither.
Here is the exact message from our first PayPal transaction from Store Envy:
"Transactions without a shipping address aren't eligible for seller protection. We recommend that you contact <customer name> to make sure this payment was authorized. For more information, see our tips to sell securely."
I am currently looking into this and contacting PayPal to see what we can do. Thanks for the concern.
I have been in touch with PayPal. They have told me they are going to work on it. How fast they make that happen is anyone's guess. But we are trying and pressing on them to make this happen.
Very hopeful there is a solution on the horizon. Copying and pasting each address seems such a silly chore when it should easily grab the shipping information from the order being processed. Just sayin.
I didn't know that this was an issue. I hope that it is resolved soon.
Yes, because when you use multiorder shipping on paypal, it does not import addresses from storenvy. It will really come handy if it does!
Shipping addresses from orders aren't even getting imported into PayPal at all actually.
I would love to see addresses imported. It's the only thing I miss from using etsy. I like the confidence of seeing 'seller protection' from paypal and the ease of not having to type in the shipping info. I will be a very happy camper if you fix this-
Isn't it just a matter of sending the address to PayPal? Seems pretty straightforward. It's not getting anything from Storenvy except the name.
And I don't just mean multi-order shipping. It's not getting it even on regular order slips in PayPal.
@MadeWithAwesome It definitely seems like there would be an easy fix to make this happen and something that could have been included in PayPal's API that we use. I have been consistently on them about making this happen and hopefully something that will become a reality shortly.
Thanks for keeping up on this Adam... keep us in the loop with what you are finding with Paypal as we all could use the importing of our orders addresses! Thanks again!
I wondered that too, it's hard to go back and forth from Storenvy to Paypal when I type in Tracking #s -_-
So if you can't export or send shipping to Paypal--- how to do you all do shipping? manually enter each purchase?
we cut and paste or manually enter the addresses right now... other sites have it where their can be multiple sellers and still have the info transported to paypal so hopefully Adam can get it lined up to work like those.. .sure would make things a LOT easier
unfortunately we are going to move back to a self-hosted eccommerce -- we do so much volume-- this is a deal breaker---- we love storeenvy, but can't over come this
Hey guys. This is something we've been looking to sort out as soon as possible. Give us a few months! :)
Hope you aren't implying that we've been sitting around! Storenvy team members each work about 60 hours each week building new stuff and improving existing stuff for you guys. This particular address issue just hasn't bubbled to the top of our to-do list yet.
Unfortunately, it's a problem with the PayPal system that we use -- it doesn't support addresses at all. It was supposed to be cutting-edge when we implemented it, but they never bothered to add address support. We hope to switch to another PayPal system when there is time.
Sweet- We're all entrepreneurs here- so 60 hours is a minimum. 10 months is just too long. It will take us 10 hours to get an eccommerce site up with just as much functionality and exporting addresses to paypal. We love the idea of a social media storefront, and will revisit it when you find time to update it.
Fair. And if that's super important to you, then we'll see you when we get it sorted out. Good luck with your store!
I'm just glad I am an advertising agency and I do not have to deal with this. But you should all know that Storenvy does try to reach every concern that someone has. But when it is just a start up like most of our companies is, we should all know that it takes significant time just to fix one problem. Yes, it may be taking 6 months but I am sure they will be working on it as soon as everything else is in order to be fixed.
Like Jon said, we all hope you guys the best with your store and we hope to see you back at Storenvy in due time. I hope you may find an easy set up like this service has.
We are simply trying to use the csv download and it does not work. We are a non-profit with over 500 sudden orders and this is really not helping our cause with our client contributors as we will have to do order entry one order at a time. We are simply asking for some guidance to get our orders out more quickly.
i saw 15 days ago adam shot an email? i dont know if it was to everyone or just the people who posted before.. i got my first transaction I see its not covered... makes me nervous :-(
and is this for all transactions? what if the person has a paypal account , the address still won't be there?
You can export your orders via cvs file to import into Paypal multi-order shipping. However, it's not easy and if you're like us and have alot of orders, you'll want to do it. You will first need to get rid of any empty fields. Also, you need to change all the states to their two letter abbreviation. Also, any zip code that begins with zero...the zero is automatically deleted and you will need to add this. When you import to Paypal, it will tell you if something is wrong...and it almost always is. Once it accepts, you will need to copy the shipping fields over one at a time. After all the labels are printed, you simply match to your orders. This is easy when you have 20 orders. Gratefully, yet stressfully, we had about 800 to match. Good luck all. Storenvy folks....if you can fix a few issues like the two state abbreviation, this would help us all until you figure out a way to export more easily.
I honestly don't understand how this hasn't "bubbled to the top" of your to do list. This is such a big issue for many people. It literally adds hours of work, for absolutely no reason. I can't even imagine getting 800 orders with this problem! I've had 70+ before, and it's terrible. ALSO, you're not protected because you cannot prove that you sent the order to the correct address. I love storenvy, but this issue is deplorable.
Hey gang!
You're right. This is a huge pain in the neck and I'm working morning, noon, and late into the night (with a small break to see my 4-month old daughter Vivian) to get it fixed for you guys!
Expect us to roll out a new PayPal payment system very soon that will make your lives easier. Until then, we made a few tweaks to Export file with all of your orders in that will make it easier to upload to PayPal.
Thanks for hanging in there with us, guys! Our mission is to help make you guys awesome online merchants and removing headaches like this is a big part of that.
Thanks for using Storenvy!
As much as I am enjoying my Storenvy shop, this is a major concern for me. Having to transfer the address isn't the issue, the fact that those items are not covered under PayPal's seller protection sure is though. :(
Well, apparently rewriting the entire underlying payment engine takes more than 25 days. :-D
Are we going to get an email or something when it happens? i'm like reloading the thread every hour
Oh heck yeah! We'll shout it from the rooftops when we get it straightened out. Thanks for hanging in there!
I'm so glad you're working on this! I just started using PayPal shipping recently, and just came back to my Storenvy store (such a low volume of orders, I'd just been sending invoices for awhile) and realized that the addresses didn't carry over! Being a college student still, time is very limited. Thank you for keeping up with this!
can't wait for the update! will make storenvy even better! thanks guys! :)
Hey guys,
This has definitely taken longer than what we planned! We are still working on getting all the kinks out and want to let you know that this is absolutely a priority!
Working on it, guys! It's actually not the programming part that is hard. It's a lot of back & forth with PayPal to get our system aligned with their different products without having to make you guys jump through a bunch of hoops to set up a store. We're close to having a plan we can roll with!
For my convenience, please automatically notify me through email once Storenvy system has been integrated with Paypal. Until that day we as your online merchants are still suffering very badly :(
Would it help if we contacted Paypal and ask them to get off their duff and help you out?
@toxicsass i just wrote paypal a letter, you should too.. maybe then they'll consider it
well paypal has got back to me, they referred me to a merchant site to do a technical complaint... i'll let everyone know how it goes!
I sent an email off to PayPal asking them to get off their proverbial butt and get with Storenvy and get this figured out. Good Luck.
@toxicsass paypal gave me instructions on how to do it but storenvy said its not that simple so i guess we're stuck :-(
Is there any news on the implementation of this Paypal feature, or any other payment system available?
@kreativestudios
This is the email:
With Adaptive Payments you will need to perform an extra API call (GetShippingAddresses) or, if you're using Embedded Payments set the "senderOptions.requireShippingAddressSelection" variable with a value of "true".
The "GetShippingAddresses" API call is submitted from your store to PayPal so StoreEnvy would be sending the information to PayPal to collect the shipping details. If that doesn't occur, no shipping information will be set.
The post you included mentions using Express Checkout (PayPal Express is what they called it), have you tried that yet?
If you have any further questions or concerns about integrating PayPal with your web site, please feel free to contact us again at: 888-221-1161, reply to this ticket, or go to https://www.x.com
Thank you for choosing PayPal, I wish you the best with your future transactions.
Patrick

Just wondering if that means the addresses are submitted. Anyone know if they are yet?
I don't know but it's interesting when you issue a refund on PayPal , it automatically cancel on storenvy so there must be some kinda connect
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to drop in and say we are beyond impressed at how amazing you guys are. Going to lengths of even emailing PayPal to see what you can do to help. Best community ever.
So to answer the questions out there, we have hit a roadblock on integrating with shipping addresses porting over. We honestly thought this would have been taken care of by now, but as you know it has not. We have switched gears a bit while we look for a different solution. What I can promise is that we have some awesome new features that are in the oven right now that we know you will all enjoy.
We really appreciate how patient you all have been, your requests are NOT falling on deaf ears.

I honestly wish that I had known about this prior to going through and opening a shop here on Storenvy and advertising it in different places. I did my research, read different reviews and everything and nobody ever mentioned this issue. For now I have to close down my Storenvy shop and move everything to my Etsy store, which I'm really not happy about.
I have already gone though the hassle of having a charge back through a sale I made through Etsy and it took a loooong time for paypal to rule in my favor even with the fact that I had printed my shipping label using the information provided through Paypal in that transaction. I'm pretty sure I would have lost if that information was not there. I cannot risk not having seller protection.
Hopefully when this issue is resolved I'll come back, but seeing it's been almost a year since this was brought to light, my hope of that being any time soon is very dim.
Adam, this is absolutely the BIGGEST problem with Storenvy right now. I'm sure there are store owners here who have far bigger sales than I. However, some new product releases in my store have generated hundreds of sales in the span of a week. I'm unwilling to lose a professional appearance by handwriting names on a box , and further, I need to have the consistant tracking provided by PayPal shipping + delivery confirmation.
The time I spend manually transcribing names and addresses from Storenvy's admin panel to PayPal's multi-order shipping application adds a lot of time and frustration to the otherwise simple task of pulling, packing, and shipping orders.
I'm sure you have a team working on this but as far as I'm concerned, THIS, and not any other glitzy smaller features, is the only thing Storenvy should be working on until it is resolved. No matter the way an owner runs their store, they all have to fulfill orders and ship products.
I am finding that I cannot open my shop without having seller protection...sigh. So I'm going to deactivate my listings and keep up with this thread. Hopefully, something will change soon.
I love my wonderful little shop here, but I need to be sure that it is workable for me, since my items are wedding gowns that are pricier.
Thanks for all the hard work on integrating. I'll keep up with what changes are being made.
Meanwhile, I'll keep selling on my other shops.
How about you contact bigcartel.com and ask them how they set it up! Their site works seamlessly with the paypal multi-shipping site. Why don't you just upgrade to the newer paypal platform you mentioned a long time ago in this thread.
Hey NewEmpApparel, where we differ from BigCartel is our Marketplace. We have to have a different PayPal toolset that allows for users to buy from multiple stores in one checkout, which is where the hold up lies.
That being said we are aiming to have this fixed and ready to roll in the next 30 days.
Hey guys! Never fear. We're on top of this. We had some other issues we had to address (all awesome stuff for you guys). But we're back on wrapping up this transition. Look for an update in the next couple weeks.
And as a note, other sites use a much less complex PayPal tool which doesn't allow shoppers to buy from more than one store at a time in a single checkout. That multi-store checkout experience is something we don't want to give up, so we've had to figure out some creative solutions for maintaining that flow while giving you guys the tools you need.
We spent some time with PayPal this last weekend and have a plan we're implementing now. Sorry it's taken longer than we thought! :)
This makes me a very happy man!! I can give you guys 30 days for sure! You are hands down better than what BigCartel offers so its worth the wait!
Awesome! Sounds like I won't have to wait long :)
I'm investing in getting shop graphics done to make this one of my long term websites. I really like the feel of things here and want to see it work out.
thanks you for the encouraging info....can't wait!
Once this is implemented and I get the discounts added to my shop (and my listings updated) I can finally grand re-open my shop! Will be much easier to take a lot of orders at once!
Any new updates on this issue? I'm waiting to open shop when this is implemented.
I see it says "in the next 30 days" 26 days ago... which gives them 4 more days... And even if they don't get it done by then, then I'm not going to blame them. My family is a technology family, so I'm around a lot of programs... I understand how hard it is to get something work when you're waiting on someone else to do it. PayPal is a much bigger company that probably has bigger fish to fry, so a large part of the problem may be getting them to work with Storenvy in the first place. I trust that they are doing their best, especially since they keep remembering to post on this thread with updates.
@kstarts oops i read the wrong thing(i was on my phone) , i saw the month ago post not the 26 days one
Hey gang! We're super close on this. We might not have it pushed live into the world by the date I mentioned, but it should be done on our end and starting to get tested. Thanks for hanging in there, as always. I promise you won't be disappointed!
Jon
After ordering a bunch of stuff on Etsy the other day, I am very glad you've kept the integrated checkout so you don't have to check out a billion times with every shop you want stuff from!
so did it work? i haven't had sale in the couple days so i don't know..anyone know?
Wrapping up final details this weekend, gang. We'll need another week or so of testing. Look for an update from us when things go live.
You guys reaaaaally need to stop promising specific dates. I think this thread is a testament to that.
jwbrecs: Couldn't agree more. I never promise dates typically. This is a specific case where we wanted to let people know that we're actively working on it.
We're also working on about 4 other projects that we haven't talked about. :)
I total agree with the above said but I do give credit to Jon for answering to this forum on this lazy Sunday. Hustlers Get No Sleep! #HGNSup
So glad to get an update on this Jon! Thank you! Looking forward to this.
Hey guys! We're still hammering out the kinks, but we *just* rolled out a massively upgraded PayPal billing system for checkout. The improvements give us these features:
- Shipping addresses are sent to PayPal so that you may print shipping labels and postage.
- Improved inventory accuracy due to tighter integration with payment processing.
- PayPal's Seller Protection support due to address verification during checkout
You'll notice a button at the top of your Orders page asking for PayPal authorization. Granting that authorization will help us getting real-time updates on PayPal orders statuses. It's a good idea to grant that authorization but not required.
Please let know if you see anything that looks out of the ordinary.
And for everyone who asks why the address isn't exported to PayPal -- Now it is! :)
Man that is not at all the address that I needed exported :) But it's definitely cool for small retailers. We use http://www.shipstation.com and import our exported CSVs of orders to use them for order management and shipping. The plan comes with a free dymo endicia account so you can print all of your labels in a batch instead of doing them one at a time. If you are doing a lot of volume through your store look them up for sure.
Will this update also enable paypal multi-order shipping? I suppose it would because you would have the addresses for it now. That's pretty rad. Their features aren't as strong as shipstation and it seems like the barely support the product but it does get the job done.
BTW... since the integration is tighter now.. any chance of getting the source URL passed to paypal and then back to a landing page that has my google analytics code on it so I don't lose them? 80% of my sales in google say they come from gearheadshirts.com or direct.. I need to know what the sources of sales look like from my store's perspective and not from storenvy's marketplace perspective.
Thanks spacecowboyian. We've had conversations with Shipstation and it's on our radar.
To answer your question, PayPal's multi-order shipping will indeed work now. A lot of people have requested support for multi-order shipping, and that was a driving force for the new PayPal transition.
I think you meant shipping.. not shopping.. I got really confused there for a second :)
Oh yeah.. I've had probably 10 orders this morning since I approved paypal and whatnot.. and no orders are showing up in my open orders queue.. I'm getting the paypal notifications but.. I need these orders in mu queue in storenvy to be able to export the CSV for shipstation.
Ditto - well, I've had one order. But it's not shopping up in my order queue (I actually just noticed because you said that). I also did not get an email from Storenvy - just a different email from PayPal that also included the listing title of the item she bought.
It also seems to have broken the ecommerce connection to google analytics. I have 2 unique transactions for today in GA when I've made probably 15 sales now.
We are working on orders not showing up in the admin after authorizing PayPal. Should have this sorted.
We will look into Google Analytics soon.
Thanks for the heads up!
So happy to hear this is out! I'll be busy getting my shop ready to open. Thank you guys for all your hard work! Hope the bugs get quickly worked out :)
Figured one problem out. My add to cart buttons were updating the cart in the upper right hand corner but it wasn't presenting the user with an indication otherwise that they had added something. I had the old button code that looks like this:
{{ variant | ajax_add_to_cart_button }}
it has apparently been updated to this:
{{ variant | ajax_add_to_cart_button: '/themes/default/images/btn_add_cart-v2.png' }}
so beware if you have custom themes that were made off of pretty old code
Thank you, Storenvy. This new change made shipping an order so much nicer!
Cool! We love hearing stories about how the stuff we release helps you guys. Let us know if it's saving you time or making your lives a bit easier.
After printing 6 old labels today, taking up my entire lunch break, I already know not having to type in the addresses will save time! haha
Thank You Storenvy for making a stay at home mama's life so much easier now to print labels...
Love to hear that this is going to be beneficial for everyone. The team is really excited to have this out in the wild.
having trouble with paypal, no since I authorized you goys to paypal, and since you rolled out the new paypal things....
big red box at the top says: it seems paypal is having a bit of trouble, please try again in a few minutes....
HELP, this is hurting my store!
It was the authorization I granted you that was making it mess up....I think, I will come back and let you know!
Hi Saasy,
There have been a handful of stores that have a had problem with PayPal express being disabled on their storefront which causes that red box to popup.. We apologize, but it looks like you do have to reach out to PayPal for them to enable PayPal express on your account.
Please let us know if you continue to have trouble.
Well it did not work still have the problem, this is lame...I've prob lost some sales to this error :( I guess I will be contacting PP in the AM.
Adam, I just got off the phone with PP and I had a personal account, which is now upgraded to a premeir account and it fixed the problem...
easy fix.
Thanks
Thanks for the heads up and again I apologize for the trouble with the upgrade.
Still haven't had a single order registered with the ecommerce reporting in google analytics since the feature was turned on and I've made many sales.
I am having the same issue where I get a paypal notification about an order. Now, the paypal email has the address and items ordered, but it does not show up in the storeenvy "orders" section. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
Ian, we are working on getting Google Analytics tracking sales again.
Marsec, Im going to shoot you an email now!
Adam, still having issues with discount codes....I emai9led you back last night
Hi Sassy,
Thanks for checking in, we are still working on getting that problem fixed. Ill be in contact as soon as we do.
Adam, you must have flipped the magic switch...just got a flood of emails from storeenvy to match the PayPal invoices. Thanks again.
Magic switch was indeed flipped. Sorry about the previous trouble, we are still working out a few kinks with the new PayPal integration.
Thanks for being patient!
No Adam, thank you. For a free service, your folks attention to detail and strive for customer satisfaction is amazing and greatly appreciated!
Hi is anyone having problems with PayPal just in general, I've contacted storenvy and have gotten only one response when you go to purchase on my site, it's saying try again later once you click purchase, I have lost 3 sales because of this and I don't know what to do
Kimmy, do you have a personal account on PayPal or is it a premeire or business account.
If you have a personal account go upgrade it (top of the page under the tabs on you account page) to premeire then have someone try to purchase, that fixed my problem.
Thanks so much Sassy, I already had a premeir account, I upgraded to business, I hope that worked, fingers crossed, I tried to make a order and it didnt say anything this time!
Hey Juice,
I shot you an email from support a bit ago. If you can email me back with which stores you are having trouble with I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
Adam, it's glitching again. I got an email from storeenvy saying 1 item sold, but the corresponding email from PayPal shows 6 items sold. Just wanted to let you know.
Hey Marsec, thanks for the heads up. One of our engineers has emailed you and is working on a fix.
Hey adam, just wondering if things were fixed on my end, I just got an email from a customer saying that she placed an order with my store, however I have not seen any payment in paypal, nor do I see it on my storenvy account
Hi Adam, I forwarded you over the receipt from the customer please check it out, also when I go to my orders to upload tracking info, it wont let me do any of that as well
