"On Order" message opinion?

Do you think the message that I put on this page is too scary and will run people off? I need people to realize that the item they are ordering isn't in stock yet so they won't get it 3 days after they order.. but I also don't want to scare them away altogether.

Thoughts?

P.S. Don't tell me to wait until the items are in stock before I sell them at all... I realize that is a solution but not the one I'm looking for :)

I think a "pre-sale" is a great way to gauge interest. I have a design in my shop that I printed a couple months ago and I've been sitting on the whole stock. Have not had 1 sale through yet storenvy and only made a couple "in-person" sales. I had a lot of support from people who said they wanted one when I printed them, but nobody followed through with making the purchase. At least doing a "pre-sale" you are able to collect money up front as their commitment. Not only are you able to gauge interest on the product, but you will also be able to better predict the volume you need to order and have funds to help pay for that order from the pre-sales, you can always do a real low quantity if you get commitments but not many.

Just make sure the date is clear (which on your page it is).

Well we already did the presale.. for that I have a big progress bar at the top that shows the percent sold vs the number I require sold to print. Normally that's 20 or 25. I tell everyone that if I don't make the quota within 25 days of posting the sale then I will give all of their money back... so far I haven't had to do that but if I did it would be a tedious process through paypal.. but it could be done.

Stay tuned to our store for the next presale and you will see what I mean.

I think pre-sales are fine, and the On Order message isn't scary in the least.
