Adding pages?

YourstrulyGaby posted December 20, 2011 23:14 ago

I would really love storenvy to come out with a feature that allows you to add extra pages!! Right now the only pages you can have are the collection pages, the FAQ's page, and the contact form page. I wish we could add more pages that are empty and customizable, for like maybe a lookbook or an about the store page thats different from the FAQ's page.

What do you think? Is this something storenvy may come out with soon?

No , they are pushing people to get their own website, and then pay for the shop."yourname".com domain so you would link it yourself

    Hi Gaby,

This is definitely something that we have talked about, we don't want to be pushing people out of the site if it's not necessary.

What other pages would store owners like to see?

    So far we have:
    -dedicated about page
    -look book

Good idea, I'll be following this thread to stay updated.

  • transcend said December 21, 2011 15:34 ago

In that case I am looking forward to that

  • maylei said December 21, 2011 20:48 ago

That would be amazing c: All of my extra pages I have, have been directed to my blog, but it'd be amazing if they could be able to stay on my shop site.

  • YourstrulyGaby said December 22, 2011 01:49 ago

Maybe also a page could be used for reviews, product and store reviews. Maybe it could even have a form on the page that allows customers to write and rate.

Idk I'm getting ahead of myself lol! I just really want to be able to add extra pages to be used for whatever I'd like.

I love that idea. Also, I really think we need a feedback section like how Etsy has. I know Storenvy is really different and better than Etsy but a feedback section would be much appreciated. Just so future buyers can see how the store is from previous customers' experiences.

I would like a review option, like after someone receives their product they could use their receipt number to leave a review? It could be a word review or the 5 star system, either way. Then people could click over the browse through the sellers history of sales, how people rated the shipping and response from the shop owner, how they rated the product, etc. :)

And maybe a little blog type feature. I have a separate blog for my business but I think that bringing it all together might draw more attention to storenvy - if say, I posted a link to my blog on FB, then people would be on Storenvy reading it, and perhaps inclined to take a look around, whereas with Blogger, there isn't really a drive to come to Storenvy, you know? You could set it up with a side bar to the right that shows the writer's products? Just a thought. If utilized well, then people could generate more sales in their stores. :)

The idea of leaving feedback is definitely something that we have been kicking around the office, it's really good to see that store owners themselves backing that idea.

I love the idea of a dedicated 'about page'. Personally, I feel having the story behind my brand would help sales and I have a 'mission statement' I would love for everyone to see but there's nowhere to showcase it! I love all the ideas and I love storenvy, it would be great if these ideas were turned into reality.

  • Adam said December 22, 2011 20:08 ago

You bring up a fantastic poing Anthem. Going forward we really want to focus on the story behind the brand and making shopping online even more human.

So is adding pages a feature we can expect to see soon? I've been wanting to add an about page and a reviews pages for a long while now. Or can anyone suggest any good alternatives?

  • Harebrained said January 06, 2012 12:36 ago

The about page would be huge for me. I know a lot of us have products to sell, but in addition to that we also have services that we freelance. It'd be great to let customers know about the freelance services that we offer on top of our great products. Also I know a lot of designers/artists have Behance accounts (to showcase our portfolios)... it would be really awesome if we were able to embed the Behance plug-ins into our Storenvy "about" page. Or if there were some sort of image slideshow that could be added to the "About" page.

  • YourstrulyGaby said January 06, 2012 13:14 ago

Yes like a lookbook I need an extra page to make one of those too!

  • eyeplusfork said January 16, 2012 00:21 ago

Reviews would be a huge plus! That's the one important thing I miss from Etsy. Potential customers need to know that you're a reliable seller and a reviews page would help that! <3

    Also seconding the "about" page.

I make custom 1" buttons and I would love to be able to have a page where I can list my past customers and show off photos of my work. For now I just have a list on my facebook page

Hi Adam, I would love a page to put font/graphics choices on for my playdate cards. Right now it's still linked to my bigcartel page... http://shop.lollipopscards.com/products/231392-playdate-cards

any help would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks!

  • Adam said January 17, 2012 20:47 ago

    Hey guys,

We definitely hear you loud and clear. The ability to add pages to your store seems like it would benefit a lot of you. We LOVE the idea of a page for helping tell you brand story along with a lot of the ideas you all have mentioned.

We are currently doing some backend updating but after we get that finished up we will be back in features mode.

  • kgreen07 said January 20, 2012 10:11 ago

I agree with Kodeekins... there def needs to be the option to add a place where people can see what others say about your products!!

Mmm, maybe I've missed it, but is there a way to have updates on our shop? Like, when we add a new product or if we'll be away, we can update our front page in some manner? Not necessarily a new page on its own, but sort of an integrated page.

  • laronje said February 04, 2012 01:17 ago

i wonder when is some of this stuff going to happen

  • LuxaR said February 26, 2012 06:29 ago

Another Page that I would like to see, that I think would benefit the clothing shop owners is a Sizing chart page. Something we could either create a chart in or upload our own.

  • Adam said February 29, 2012 00:28 ago

This is absolutely something that we plan on making happen! Just hang in there. We have a lot of new and exciting features coming.

  • LuxaR said February 29, 2012 07:21 ago

@Adam....Thank you for listen! We really appreciate it! I can't wait for the option!

  • Sinotology said February 29, 2012 19:39 ago
