This question is for stores based in Hawaii. I'm trying to get all my papers and permits done and I'm unclear on whether or not I need a resale license or permit. I got the state and federal tax id numbers already but I can't find any straight answers anywhere and the form that I managed to find on the state tax site is confusing. I'm only retailing and NOT wholesaling anything so I don't know if this makes a difference.
Is anyone operating without registering their site? I wanted to not have to go through with all this stuff but there was another thread where someone mentioned the government cracking down on online businesses and I don't want to get hit with a fine later.
