DNS Domain Forwarding Confusion

wiggitout posted May 10, 2012 07:33

Good morning,

I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to get my own domain name forwarded to a storenvy site. I just joined today, so it is a learning curve.

I looked at the FAQ and I cannot find the Premium Tab in my settings. Is this still an option?

Can someone please help me out?

Thanks so much

Adam, I already have a domain - golnarjewelry.com When I log in to the EXTRAS - there are NO PREMIUM tabs. When I follow the information you sent via email, it walks me through and asks me to sign up for yet another domain via paypal. What is the IP Address? How do I link my own already paid domain www.golnarjewelry.com to my storenvy?

  • Adam August 15, 2012 16:03

    Just shot you another email.

Sorry about the confusion on the "premium" tab listed on our support. That was actually old terminology for "Extras". Just updated that ont the support documentation to be more clear.

    Thanks!

Hello Adam, with this change now what I am suppose to do to get to my website under my domain? thanks

  • TatteredChic August 17, 2012 08:01

    I have this question too.

  • PolishMyCanvas November 19, 2012 01:02

So I've paid for this feature but my domain still doesn't work. My domain is polishmycanvas.com and I set store.polishmycanvas.com to direct to my storenvy store.... but I have to change my nameservers from wordpress I believe and I don't see that info on storenvy anywhere. I can't make my new business cards until I get this fixed. :0(

if you use GoDaddy, i think you have to park your nameservers and just redirect your A Name record to the storenvy ip

  • fashionhabitz March 20, 2013 17:06

what is the nameserver for this website?

  • Adam March 20, 2013 17:17

Hey there, you actually do not need to touch the nameservers at all for setting up your custom domain. You only need to change your A RECORD to: 216.180.248.37 That is the only thing you need to change. It can take 24 to 48 hours for it to take affect.

We also just partnered up with Tweaky, who will set this up for you $20. Here is a link in case you want someone to set this up for you. https://www.tweaky.com/services/custom-domain-setup

Hi Adam, Just wondering would we need to delete all the other A Records and just have this one A Record or just add this one to the ones that already exist. I'm having difficulty as well. I did purchase the custom domain setup from Tweaky and haven't had any communication from them at all. I've even sent an email to support for a timeframe on when they would start my project and still no response and I purchased it this past Friday. It's very fustrating especially when I paid for this service already.

  • Adam April 04, 2013 12:59

    Hey there,

Really bummed to hear that Tweaky has not responded. I am going to email them right now on your behalf.

You need to change the existing A RECORD to point to the new one.

Has anyone had any success pointing their domain setup through wordpress to storenvy?

  • IMSTYLE May 05, 2013 14:45

How do I get a response from storenvy? I've followed all the steps correctly to link my domain since Friday and it just shows an error godaddy says the error is on the server end but I'm using the correct ip address. Storenvy shows that it's connected to my PayPal but has yet to take the $4.99 out-of-date my acct. It says next payment to be made is may 3rd 2013 but today is already the 5th. I emailed Storenvy and haven't gotten a response. How do I get help/a response??? Please....
