This is for storeowners who also take their stuff to events and outside marketplaces. I have been using Squareup.com for a few years now as I take some of my handmade items, tarot readings and books (now out of print, long story) to conventions, Pagan events and as I don't have a physical store, I will meet clients for readings.
Square has been great at 2.75% per swipe and 3.5% + .15 cents for manually entered transactions with no monthly fees. Now the PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/credit-card-reader) option seems to only charge 2.7% AND you can scan checks as well. I'm thinking it might be a better option when it launches since I already have a business debit card and would not have to wait a few days to have it transferred to my bank account...you can use the funds within minutes.
So does anyone else take their wares on the go or use a mobile credit card reader? Are there better options out there?
