Religion.

Cobaltraven posted June 26, 2012 15:18

I tried this before and personally contacted several stores that sell religious based products and asked them if they would like to see a spiritual marketplace like I would. I thank those of you who responded in favor. I sell Pagan items, but there are other religious stores on Storenvey that don't fit into the ONLY religious marketplace on here that it CLEARLY labeled Christian.

Now, I'm not for taking anything away from a group, but I do view it as unfair and promoting of one faith.

SO, I've been told if we can get 50 store owners to say YEY, they will consider making a marketplace for the rest of us.

Who's with me? :)

Really need your help on this guys please. Even if you don't plan on joining the market place, could you please spread the word? Thank you!

Giving this one more bump since I have found a few more Pagan stores.

  • PrettyLikeDrugs July 03, 2012 20:34

    yey, goodluck!

  • Cobaltraven July 03, 2012 23:31

    Thank you so much :)

  • annlea July 04, 2012 06:33

    YEY
.....is this where I say "yey"?

  • Cobaltraven July 05, 2012 09:34

Yes, and thank you for doing so Annlea!

  • JustforLittles July 05, 2012 14:05

I do not make anything pagan, but I do fully support a spiritual market place. I very much agree that this site should not limit promotion to just one faith. Hope my two cents help!

  • ReiLynnDesigns July 05, 2012 14:58

Good luck! That sounds great- everyone should be able to express themselves and their stores!

  • Cobaltraven July 05, 2012 15:20

MarellaDesigns & ReiLynnDesigns, Thank you SO much for your support, it means the world to me!

  • catbirdcraft July 05, 2012 19:22

    We're with you Cobaltraven :)

  • Mindaso July 06, 2012 07:39

    Good idea, i'm with you.
To send out a message were you coming from a spiritual point of view might also be intresting for vistors who are also into your views..

Or atleast we need a neutral spiritual market.

  • Cobaltraven July 06, 2012 10:20

Thank you Catbirdcraft & Mindaso for your support!

Oh, this is not just a Pagan thing, I just happen to be a witch. There are so many other religious and spiritual stores here...
    http://busanamuslim.storenvy.com/
    http://truthclothingsg.storenvy.com/
    http://eightfold.storenvy.com/
    http://fthwrks.storenvy.com/ (not religious but spiritual)

These are just a modicum....I would love a market that is inclusive of all religions and spiritual minded or at least friendly...but I would not like it viewed as alternative because how can many be alternative to one? I was asked if I wanted them to ask the Christian marketplace to switch up some of the wording, but that wouldn't be fair to take it away from them and I don't want ANY hard feeling between us owners....we can all work together here :) Besides, if we can have 5 separate market places for music, why not 2 for religious stores?

I really appreciate the support from all, spread the word if and when you can please <3

I really want to thank all that have replied for their support!

Just to let you know, I'm still 100% on board with you.

  • arteaves August 16, 2012 22:06

I think there should be a spot for everyone and every type of product...so you got my Yey!

  • Aradia August 16, 2012 22:25

@Cobaltraven - ;) Thanks for the mention. I support it, because there are plenty of "religious articles" that are definitely physical things - like prayer beads, altar cloths, and even religious/spiritual/ or faith-based decorations. I think it should be an all inclusive and not specific to any one religious group so that those "on the line" like myself who may choose to offer general items as well as strictly Pagan items have a place to "be". I think it will also help people who are looking to buy to have a specific market to search.

It may be important to re-visit this conversation, especially with teh changes to ebay on September 1st

  • danalang333 August 16, 2012 22:35

Yey yey and OF COURSE YEY!!!

  • Aradia August 16, 2012 22:39

I do have to put in that I do not support the sale of something that could be an *obvious scam* and that there seems to be a great misunderstanding in the change on eBay (they're not disallowing physical items, although some of their language involving potions is not precisely accurate/relevant - can't think of a good word). When I say *obvious scam* I do not consider the sale of a tarot reading, astrology, or numerology chart a scam - whereas promising the results of a spell, ritual, prayer, or energy work (Healing NOT included in this) to be guaranteed or to have very specific results 100% of the time is another matter.

  • Cobaltraven August 16, 2012 23:05

Thank you guys SO much. Aradia, I agree...I do happen to do energy work but it's mostly for friends and not for sale. I also don't agree with doing spells for money as the intent for the other person is not there, nor does the seller know the entirety (sp?) Of all circumstances involved and puts the asker and themselves at risk.
I hope they will consider an inclusive marketplace not just for Pagans but for anyone who is not of the Christian faith.

I would love to see more options for religion in the marketplaces. I had come across a link to click and offer suggestions for market idea's recently. I clicked it, offered my idea for a witches or wiccan market. I did receive a response to this but it was pretty much just a polite brush off.

  • Cobaltraven September 30, 2012 13:48

I was told a little while back that they would be doing away with the market places all together. Now, I'm pretty sure I've been BS'd so that maybe I'll just shut up and go away.

I think I may be seeking other options if this is not fixed soon. I don't want to sell my stuff in a place where our kind is not welcome :(

It's sad, I thought they were nice people. Guess I was wrong.

  • LacyJae September 30, 2012 14:00

I don't have anything spiritual yet, but would add my voice to the vote, with plans of having some themed goodies in the future.

Hopefully this is still going to happen. <3

  • Cobaltraven September 30, 2012 14:02

    Thanks LacyJae!

I have a funny feeling we're just being strung along. Frankly, it's really starting to piss me off now. It's not like we're asking for anything that others haven't been given.

I support you! I don't sell anything spiritual in my own shop but I am a firm believer in everybody having a safe space to go and run their business.

  • archi October 01, 2012 02:05

their are number of online sites that sell religious products you can follow them

  • LacyJae October 01, 2012 07:37

archi, I think the point is wanting a marketplace here that storenvy shops can be collected into for ease of customer browsing. :)

  • Cobaltraven October 01, 2012 07:42

    Thank you BlueButterfly!

Archi, I myself and numerous other store owners here sell religious items....we just want a space too.

    Thank you LJ :)

  • catbirdcraft October 01, 2012 08:59

This is quite disappointing Cobaltraven. There is obviously support within the community for a marketplace with an umbrella of spiritual members. Why is it ok for there to be a marketplace for one but ignoring all other faiths? How is that ok?
Does anyone from Storenvy ever come into the forums here? Perhaps they'd like to explain it.
