Sea of Storms "Dead Weight" 12" LP

Sea of Storms features ex members of Mouthbreather, Wow Owls, The Set-Up, Race The Sun and more. These guys have been a big force in the Richmond, VA scene for many years and this project is really where it all seemed to come together. I haven't seen these guys be more comfortable than they are in this project and the sheer power of the music shows. Sea of Storms has this unique knack for making it seem so easy and make you feel like what you are hearing has a sort of familiarity to it, but you cant quite put your finger on it. You think to yourself, "where have I heard this, or what do this sound like?" The truth is, "Dead Weight" has some great songs and it is 100% Sea of Storms, all the way. Richmond bands have this unique sound that always brings to mind things like Planes Mistaken For Stars, Engine Down, and also mid-90s Dischord and Lovitt Records bands. Sea of Storms also mixes in a little bit of Small Brown Bike and possibly a touch of Criteria.
