V/A Kankyō Ongaku: Japanese Ambient, Environmental, & New Age Music 1980-1990

Collection of some previous favorites and some new to me artists. Satoshi Ashikawa leads this off with "Still Space". Ashikawa famously was the 2nd (of 3 ) releases on the flawless Sound Process Label out of Japan that also released Hiroshi Yoshimura's classic "Music for 9 Postcards" LP. We also have copies of Ashikawa's "Still Way" LP that came out on Sound Process and was finally reissued by We Release What The Fuck We Want. Yoshimura also has a track. More well known names like Yellow Magic Orchestra and solo members Sakamoto and Hosono are represented as well as gorgeous tracks form Akira Ito, Yoshio Ojima and about 20 other artists. Great collection with lots of biographical info housed in a sturdy box.
