  • What is Chirimen and is it washable?

How to handle Kimono fabric? Most Kimonos are made of silk. Other fabrics I am using are chirimen and cotton. Chirimen is a crapped kind of silk. Silk doesn't like water, please don't wash your item and be aware of Rain -depending of your chosen item. Due to water damage the color will change drastic or worth the color will be soak into other clothes and will loose its crapped design. Please be aware of this. Some colors like strong vibrant yellow and pink may get a bit less shiny after time. There for I am mixing with stronger fabrics like cotton or hemp.
  • My Item is made of Obi/Yukata/ Kimono. Is it washable?

No, don't wash it. Silk does not like water. >>If you happen to spill something on you Item<< Try to use a wet tissue and softly take of the coffee or whatever is spilled on the item. Don't wet the whole area. If you are fast you may be able to save the item. If not.. don't be sad. In japan its often said that daily use gives a necessary taste to an item!
