FORGOTTEN LEAVES: ESSAYS FROM A SMIAL Revised, Corrected Edition Edited by Jessica Burke Index by Nicholas Birns Our 1st volume dedicated “To the Professor,” with 14 essays examining varying topics in Tolkien studies. A number of the essays were previously published in the Journal of the Northeast Tolkien Society and have been revised by their authors. Forgotten Leaves showcases fans as the first scholars. We wanted to present a scholarly discussion that was open to scholars and non-scholars alike. Here we have discussions that are academic, fannish, and pleasant blend of the two.
