What does Bean Sprout Boutique offer?

Who is Bean Sprout Boutique?

Nakesha Planck
Owner, Bean Sprout Boutique
Crocheter, Mother, Yarn Hoarder

I've been a crocheter most of my life. My grandmother put a crochet hook in my hand at a young age and I've never stopped. What began as balls and balls of chained yarn eventually grew into blankets, hats, scarves and mittens. When my little ones arrived, I discovered my true passion for baby hats and children’s toys. After resigning from the workforce in 2011 to raise our twins, I decided to turn this life-long hobby into a small business. In August 2012, I opened Bean Sprout Boutique. Nine years later, with my twins now ten and the addition of a six-year-old, I'm elbows deep in yarn and doing what I love! My passion for crochet has led me to sharing my joy with others.

Absolutely! I'd love to make an item especially for you. Customize any of the hats I currently offer in the store, or make a suggestion of your own.

To place a custom order, please send a message using the contact form. Please include your hat size, quantity, and style of hat you are requesting.

All custom orders will be reviewed and recipient notified before the order is placed. Then a special product link will be put in the custom orders section. Custom orders will begin upon receipt of payment. No refunds on custom items.

**Please note: I can not make any items with specific sports teams, cartoon characters, etc. due to copyright of those items and brands.**

What type of yarn do you use?

I love working with quality yarns. I use wool, alpaca, cotton and some acrylic yarns. Whenever possible, I try to purchase my yarn from other small businesses, whether locally or globally. I look for eco-friendly, sustainable companies. My goal is to make beautiful products from top quality yarn.

How do I clean my item?

I highly recommend gently hand-washing your purchase. Then reshape and lay flat to dry. Machine washing and drying can ruin your item depending on the yarn. Acrylic items may be machine washable, but hand washing can extend the life of your product.

Why does the color on the screen look differently than the item I purchased?

Due to the nature of computer monitors and variations in dye lots, the color of the item you purchase may vary slightly from how the item appears on your screen.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Some items will be kept in stock, while other items in the store are made to order. Please allow 1-2 weeks for production. Once shipped most domestic orders take anywhere from 2 to 10 business days to arrive depending on the efficiency of your local postal service. International shipping delivery times may vary between 2 and 12 weeks.

Do you accept orders placed outside of the US?

We sure do!

For international orders, shipping charges are for 1st class international mail. My international shipping charges are estimates. If shipping costs significantly more, I will send you a PayPal invoice. Your item will not ship until this invoice is paid. Please note that import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in my shipping cost or in the item cost.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Paypal and Credit Card through Stripe. If you need assistance with checkout, please do not hesitate to contact me!
